1. In the app (fastest)
- Open Traverse and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab (bottom right).
- Scroll down and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete.
The account is deleted immediately and you are signed out. It cannot be undone.
2. On the web, with an email code
If you no longer have your phone but can still read the email of your account:
- Open the Traverse console and enter your account’s email.
- Enter the 6-digit code we email you.
- Under Account, choose Delete account and confirm.
This works for accounts that sign in with email. If you signed in with Apple or Google, use the email route below.
3. By email, if you cannot sign in any more
Write to privacy@traverse-3d.com with the subject “Delete my Traverse account”. Write from the account’s address if you can, and tell us:
- the account’s email, or your Traverse username;
- if you signed in with Apple, the address Apple created for you (it ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com), if you know it.
To make sure the request comes from you, we may send a code to the account’s address and ask you to send it back. We never ask for a password (Traverse has none). We delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and confirm by email.
Lawyer to confirmConfirm the deadline (30 days, within the GDPR one-month limit) and the identity check.4. What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in, your profile and private profile (emergency contact).
- All your trips with their GPS tracks, steps and summits.
- Your trip plans with their history, and your SOS records.
- Your photos and GPX files (the stored files too).
- Your posts, comments, thanks, notifications, follows and blocks.
- Your group and organization memberships and event sign-ups.
- Saved routes, your votes on reports, which reports you saw, and content reports you filed.
- Push tokens, app sessions and your year in review.
5. What stays, without your name
Some things you shared help other people stay safe, so they stay, but no longer linked to you:
- field reports (conditions, hazards, avalanche observations);
- routes and places you added to the map;
- organizations, groups and events you created (without their creator);
- for organization staff: official notices and actions in trip plan histories;
- technical error reports, without your account ID.
Encrypted backups may hold deleted data for up to [7] days.
Lawyer to confirmConfirm the backup period for the Supabase plan. Engineering recommendation: private routes (that nobody else can see) should be deleted with the account rather than kept without an author.6. Deleting only some data
You can delete single trips, reports, posts, comments and photos in the app, or write to us saying what you want deleted. You can remove your emergency contact from your profile at any time.
Removing the app from your phone deletes offline maps and unsent recordings on that phone, but does not delete your account.
If you signed in with Apple or Google, you can also remove Traverse from your Apple or Google account settings.
